Responsibilities

Plan, analyze, develop, implement, and evaluate the operations of the Immunization Information System, including data quality dashboards, message exchange performance, and user management functions
Conduct business and workflow analysis to identify process improvements and assist in planning and implementing new features or system enhancements
Collaborate with internal teams and technical partners to monitor and troubleshoot data exchange processes, ensuring message accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with national data standards
Design and maintain software tools and scripts that support data extraction, transformation, and migration activities between environments or systems
Provide support to end users and public health partners through data issue resolution, user onboarding, and system training
Identify workflow gaps, duplicate data, or inconsistencies and recommend sustainable solutions that strengthen data quality and system performance
Support informatics leadership in program planning, reporting, and evaluation, including contributions to grant deliverables and performance metrics
Produce analytical reports and visualizations to assess vaccination coverage, provider performance, and system utilization trends
Mentor and train staff in system navigation, data analysis, and information exchange protocols, helping strengthen informatics capacity across the program
Contribute to the creation and refinement of policies, procedures, and data governance practices to ensure operational consistency and adherence to privacy and security requirements
Support interoperability initiatives by applying modern data exchange standards such as HL7 and FHIR to improve data sharing and integration with other health systems
Lead or participate in quality assurance efforts, validating data submissions, system updates, and process improvements
Coordinate with project management, technical, and program teams to ensure smooth implementation of new releases, maintenance updates, and performance monitoring
Develop and maintain technical and user documentation, including data mappings, test plans, training materials, and validation procedures
Assist in evaluating vendor and system performance to ensure that technical solutions meet functional and operational expectations
Support communication and collaboration between technical staff, program managers, and stakeholders to ensure shared understanding of system capabilities and limitations
Represent the Immunization Registry program in collaborative workgroups, professional networks, and training opportunities to share best practices and identify innovations that can enhance registry operations

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Statistics, Epidemiology, Informatics, or Health field plus 6 years of experience working in data analysis, statistics, & interpretation of data in a health subject area OR Master's Degree in Public Health, Statistics, Epidemiology, Informatics, or Health field plus 4 years of experience. Experience may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis

Preferred

Working knowledge in SAS, R, or similar statistical analysis software
Proficient to expert skills in SQL, Python, Tableau, ArcGIS or similar data management and data visualization tools
Intermediate understanding and practical use of HL7, ASAP, USCDI, FHIR, or other health data and messaging standards
