Travel Management Specialist

Responsibilities

Examines new or proposed travel policies, procedures, regulations, and legislation and assesses impact to the Bureau's travel program
Develops, organizes and conducts training sessions for travel arrangers throughout CA's directorates and offices on the automated travel program
Reviews and evaluates data and develops reports for special studies
Assumes responsibility for all administrative and financial tasks related to the travel card to include policy development, issuance, card utilization, billing, and termination
Conducts comprehensive assessments of the Bureau Travel and Budget Financial Plan to determine the accuracy of pertinent allocations per Fiscal Year

Required

U.S. Citizenship is required
Incumbent will be subject to random drug testing
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
Applicants must meet all the required qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement
Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position
Experience in using automated travel systems and in interpreting travel regulations, policies, and procedures
Experience with financial/accounting management systems
Experience in developing guidance for effective management and improvement of travel program operations
Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5CFR 300, Subpart F
