AIRCRAFT ELECTRICIAN LEADER
USAJOBS is seeking an Aircraft Electrician Leader for the Fleet Readiness Center Southwest. The role involves providing leadership to shop personnel, installing and connecting electrical components, and performing functional tests while instructing personnel on new production techniques.

Responsibilities
You will provide leadership to shop personnel
You will install and connect electrical components such as black boxes, avionic gear, motors, generators, converters, relays, switches, circuit breakers, relay panels, etc
You will remove, install and service radar units
You will perform functional tests, interpret, analyze, and apply a wide variety of technical data
You will instruct shop personnel in the implementation of new or improved production techniques and perform more difficult troubleshooting and fault analysis on production operations
Qualification
Required
Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check

You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required
You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination
This position requires lifting and carrying for short distances objects over 45 pounds
Demonstrating knowledge of installations, operations, and requirements of electrical principles, and multiple parameter specialized test benches
Utilizing various types of hand tools common to the electrician trade
Using test equipment such as ohm meters volt meters, test lights, harness testers, counters, Wheatstone bridges, decode capacitors and resistors, capacitor analyzers, meggers and special test equipment
Assisting in prototyping new modifications to aircraft structures and systems
Working from blueprints, wiring diagrams, manuals, handbooks, and technician directives
Troubleshooting aircraft electrical components and aircraft systems
Demonstrating experience on a class of systems or materials to analyze, draw conclusions, evaluate, and report on complex system operation problems
