College Intern Program (Information Technology)

The Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) prepares the federal law enforcement community to safeguard America's people, property, and institutions. This internship is designed for students interested in a career in Information Technology, where they will work on meaningful research and writing projects under the guidance of a mentor from the FLETC Chief Information Officer divisions.

Responsibilities

The primary purpose of this position is for a Non-Law Enforcement Internship for Information Technology (IT): Designed for students who are interested in a career in a field of IT. You will be assigned a mentor from one of the FLETC Chief Information Officer divisions. You can expect that most of your time will be spent working on meaningful research and/or writing projects with a nexus to training under the auspices of the IT field you're interested in all under the guidance of your assigned mentor. Participation in this internship may also include observation of and participation in parts of live law enforcement training as part of the larger CIP cadre of students

Required

Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications; applicant's resumes and supporting documentation should only reflect education received from schools accredited by such institutions
You must submit a copy of your college transcript (unofficial is acceptable) from an accredited institution listing the college/university
Must be 18 or older to apply
You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position
You must successfully pass a background investigation
Must have a current GPA of 3.0 on a 4-point scale
Remain enrolled with your academic institution during the course of the internship period
Acceptance into the FLETC College Intern program DOES NOT equate to a job offer of any kind
This a full-time internship without compensation. No reimbursements will be given to the student of any kind
Earned at least 60 semester hours by the time of application. (Must supply all transcripts) (Future credits, courses or hours will not be counted towards the semester/hours required. No rounding
Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4-point scale
Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4-point scale. (Must supply undergraduate transcripts as well with your graduate transcripts)
This program will run from June 1, 2026, to July 24, 2026, and you must be able to participate for the entire duration of the program
You must submit a copy of your college transcript (unofficial is acceptable) from an accredited institution listing the college/university, degree confirmation date(s) and applicable courses for the position you are applying to
If you are using foreign education to meet qualification requirements, you must send a Certificate of Foreign Equivalency (a U.S. private organization's interpretation that such education has been deemed at least equivalent to conventional U.S. education programs) with your transcript in order to receive credit for that education
