Utility Systems Repairer-Operator
The National Park Service is seeking a Utility Systems Repairer-Operator for the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park. The incumbent will install, maintain, and repair utility systems, ensuring safety and compliance while monitoring system performance.

Responsibilities
Maintain, test, troubleshoot, and repair various utility systems including electrical, plumbing, wastewater, and water treatment
Safely operate motor vehicles to transport materials and equipment
Diagnose and repair electrical equipment, plumbing systems, and treatment plant operations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Operate and monitor utility systems to ensure optimal performance, including making necessary adjustments and performing routine maintenance
Follow prescribed safety practices and use appropriate safety equipment to ensure a safe working environment, while ensuring all operations comply with relevant regulations and policies

U.S. Citizenship required
Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication
Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males
Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program
You may be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties
You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards
You may be required to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime
You must successfully obtain and maintain a Utah Certified Water Operator - Distribution Level 1 certification and a Utah Certified Water Operator - Treatment Level 1 certification within one year of onboard date
You may be required to travel overnight away from home up to 1 night per month
Applicants must be at least (1) 18 years old or (2) at least 16 years old and: (a) Have graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school; or (b) Have completed a formal vocational training program; or (c) Have received a statement from school authorities agreeing with their preference for employment rather than continuing their education; or (d) Be currently enrolled in a secondary school and either work only during school vacation periods or work part-time during the school year under a formal student employment program
As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period -OR- a 2-year trial period during which your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest will be evaluated
Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (SCREEN OUT) Operate, maintain, and monitor a water treatment system
Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprints reading)
Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment
Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation Repair, etc
Technical Practices (theoretical precise, artistic)
