Business Intelligence Analyst I
The Port of Seattle is a leader in moving people and cargo across the country and around the world, and they are seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst I to manage analytical projects and provide insights to inform business cases. This role involves designing and maintaining BI solutions, engaging with the business intelligence community, and utilizing data visualization techniques to enhance reporting and analytics.

Responsibilities
Manage concurrent analytical projects
Be involved in project work that requires some consultation with organizational and functional departments
Translate simple requirements into analytical applications and solutions that inform business cases
Design, develop, and maintain basic to intermediate BI solutions using technologies such as Tableau, Excel, Python, and Alteryx
Function as a technical resource for reporting and analytics projects
Be familiar with data sources used in day-to-day operations
Respond quickly to ad hoc problems
Provide advice for analytics projects
Utilize best practices for the design and development of analytical solutions and data visualizations
Review and contribute to technical documentation to ensure accurate development of reporting solutions
Assist in managing the Tableau server reporting environment including data sources, security, and subscriptions
Bring data to life through data storytelling and advanced data visualization techniques
Actively engage in the Port of Seattle’s business intelligence community by preparing materials for user group sessions and attending conferences or training sessions to bring new ideas to the organization
Qualification
Required
Six (6) months of experience in data analysis and working with large data sets
Experience with Structural Query Language (SQL)
Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Alteryx
Familiarity with data modeling and data warehousing concepts
Ability to apply equity and exemplify shared values, behaviors, and practices in all aspects of the work
Ability to think critically and solve problems using data-driven insights
Strong communication skills to present findings to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
Attention to details and ensure data accuracy
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check
Must pass a criminal history background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
Must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree or above in computer science, math, information technology, and/or information security
