Reliability Engineer 3 (H/F) - SAFRAN SEATS USA LLC

Safran is an international high-tech group operating in the aerospace, space, and defense sectors. The Reliability Engineer 3 will establish reliability predictions, oversee testing, and perform reliability calculations to improve design functionality and reduce downtime or failures.

Responsibilities

Check maturity test plans and test reports for technical accuracy
Oversee Accelerated Stress Testing (AST)
Assess completed test results for acceptability
Anticipate reliability related risks for Risk Assessment
Performs MTBF, MTBUR and FMEA calculations
Define test methods on new and nouvel design based on expected failure modes
Define lifecycle acceptance criteria for seat components and mechanisms
Assessment of existing reliability test methodologies, procedures and specifications
DoE to develop test plan methods and set ups to ensure product robustness and performance
Replicate product malfunctions under control conditions for failure diagnosis
Oversee Accelerated Stress Testing (AST)
Build reliability prediction models to evaluate product functionality
Perform statistics and probability analysis for Reliability, Maintainability and Availability (RMA)
Anticipate reliability related risks for Risk Assessment
Contribute to developing engineering solutions to failures observed during the life cycle of seats and seats components
Work in conjunction with other engineering and management groups (e.g. Design Engineering, Certification Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Fabrication, Operations, and Field representatives)
Provide feedback to new product development and design engineering
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

Must have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related engineering degree; or minimum of 12 years equivalent related experience based on education and or experience will be considered in lieu of degree
5 years of experience in reliability engineering or related experience
Basic understanding of Mechanical Systems
Basic understanding of electrical systems
Must have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment
Ability to read and review written communication
Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English

Decision Making
Attention to Detail

Preferred

Knowledge of CAD systems (Pro-Engineer and CATIA)
Knowledge of Reliability, Maintainability and Availability (RMA)
Basic knowledge of the following data analysis techniques including: Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS), Design of Experiment (DoE), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
Prior experience with Reliability calculation like FMEA, MTBF, MTBUR, FEA
Prior experience with reliability testing and Root cause and corrective Action analysis
Reliability Block Diagram (RBD)
Mean Time to Failure Analysis (MTTF)
Statistical Analysis (Weibull, Binomial, Poisson, etc.)
