Manager - Student Information Systems (SIS)

They are seeking a dynamic Manager of Student Information Systems (SIS) to oversee K-12 technical support and ensure system security and data integrity while driving strategic decisions for elementary SIS operations.
Education
Responsibilities
Coordinating and leading collaboration meetings with elementary academic and operations teams to drive decisions on SIS course catalog, master scheduling, and grading procedures for the district
Translating high-level elementary decisions into technical workflows and delegating specific configuration tasks to the SIS Coordinators
Partnering with the Academics team to finalize the elementary grading schedule for the school year and ensure it is communicated across the district
Collaborating with the Academics team to finalize report card and progress report templates, ensuring they are accurately configured for all elementary schools
Working alongside federal and state compliance teams to ensure all elementary configurations remain up to date with legal requirements
Managing the SIS online form request process and ensuring all forms are updated and configured correctly from year to year
Managing two SIS Coordinators and monitoring the SolarWinds support queue to ensure K-12 tickets are handled in a timely and satisfactory manner
Ensuring the support team meets established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for troubleshooting and application support
Managing and maintaining district-wide Skyward user accounts, permissions, and security protocols
Partnering with the IT and Data teams to facilitate the setup and maintenance of SIS integrations with third-party applications
Leading pre-year and year-end processes and collaborating with SIS Specialists to ensure successful system transitions
Creating annual SIS training plans and working with data owners to identify where staff training is needed most

Qualification
Required
Associate's degree
3 years of experience within an elementary or secondary school environment with a focus on data operations or system administration
Outstanding attention to detail, superior time management skills, and a consistent record of thorough follow-up
Proven experience in people management, project oversight, and coordinating complex technical workflows
Understanding of student registration process, course scheduling, grading, and other core campus SIS processes
Proficient in current MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
Ability to work well with all areas of the organization including School Leadership, Operation Coordinators, Registrars, Counselors, IT Support Services, and Senior Operations Management
Strong ability to anticipate system issues, resolve technical problems proactively, and maintain a high sense of urgency
Absolute commitment to maintaining the highest level of data privacy and security
Working knowledge of records management, data privacy, and business process optimization
Openness to giving and receiving frequent feedback
Ability to work outside of normal hours and on weekends
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field
Experience with Skyward SMS/Qmlativ, SchoolMint, and SolarWinds Service Desk
Experience with state reporting requirements (TSDS/PEIMS) and data validation tools
Previous experience managing a district-wide help desk or centralized support services team
