Human Resources Specialist

Piscataqua Landscaping & Tree Service is seeking an HR Specialist to join their team. The role involves managing payroll, assisting with employee benefits, supporting recruitment efforts, and ensuring compliance with HR policies while providing excellent customer service to staff.

Responsibilities

Maintains a consistent and positive attendance pattern
Manages weekly payroll processing for both salaried and hourly staff
Reviews and approves 401K contributions changes, distribution requests and/or loans
Reconciles benefit billing on a weekly and monthly basis
Assists employees with benefits enrollment and questions, including health, dental, vision, and supplemental offerings
Oversees benefit portal and ACA Dashboard for all employees
Partners with HR and Safety Team on workers’ compensation – including reporting injuries, light duty, wage reporting, and monitoring claims
Tracks all workers’ compensation in our OSHA log
Supports recruitment efforts by assisting with job postings, career fairs, tracking new candidate applications through the recruitment cycle, and the interview process
Works closely with HR Team on various audit requests, such as 401K, payroll and benefits
Employment Verifications, Unemployment Requests and/or Hearings
Monthly visits to other Piscataqua Landscaping & Tree Service Branches (with Fuel Reimbursement for travel)
Mandatory Wage or Occupation Reporting
Weekly filing in personnel files
Back up for new hire orientation to ensure each employee feels welcomed into our family
Develops, assists and/or holds company-wide trainings
Assists with planning and coordinator of company outings and other activities to support our exceptional team of people
Monitors and supports management with employee performance reviews

Required

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a previous HR role
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Extremely organized, self-motivated, and passionate about helping people
Enjoys working closely on an HR team in a fun, fast-paced, and highly varied work environment
Thinks outside the box to better support company initiatives and implement new processes

Preferred

Payroll knowledge and experience is highly preferred
