Research Associate
The Fintech Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that fosters discussions on technologies shaping the future and connects policymakers with industry leaders. They are looking for an early-stage scholar to serve as a Research Associate, supporting the launch of their research agenda by structuring research streams, coordinating stakeholders, and producing policy-relevant outputs.

Responsibilities
Stand up research streams: help define topics, scope projects, and establish workplans, milestones, and deliverables
Research & synthesis: summarize complex issues in memos, briefs, and slide-ready notes
Content development: draft outlines and early drafts for working papers, issue briefs, agendas, and discussion guides
Stakeholder coordination: support outreach to researchers, regulators, industry experts, and partner organizations; help source expert contributions
Project management: track tasks, timelines, and document versions; and coordinate research projects
Event integration (as needed): support programming that connects research outputs to DC Fintech Week panels, roundtables, and convenings
Qualification
Required
Strong research and writing skills (policy memo clarity is a big plus)
Ability to work independently and proactively
A commitment to nonpartisan perspectives, and embracing varied global perspectives
Interest in fintech policy, financial regulation, digital assets, payments, and AI
Ability to synthesize diverse, at times technical sources into clear takeaways for a broad audience
Excellent organization skills and follow-through in a fast-moving environment
Comfort engaging professionally with senior stakeholders (academia, government, industry)
