Technical Writer – Skill Level 2
Kaizen Approach, Inc. is currently seeking a Technical Writer responsible for the preparation, review, revision, and maintenance of technical documentation supporting software and systems engineering. The role involves writing and editing technical documentation for project hardware and software, collaborating with engineers and subject matter experts to ensure documentation accuracy and usability across projects.

Responsibilities
Prepare, assist in preparing, and maintain operations documentation, user guides, manuals, technical publications, reports, responses, and briefings targeted to a wide range of audiences, while working across all phases of documentation
Gather and research highly technical subject matter, organize information from multiple sources, and express complex technical information in written form that is comprehensible to a broad audience
Write technical copy using basic grammar concepts and apply technical writing principles based on engineering drawings, engineering documentation, consultations with engineers and subject matter experts, and other available sources
Work collaboratively with developers to produce high-quality documentation and training materials, including defense acquisition documentation, user manuals, training manuals, and other documentation utilized by DoD end-user communities
Interpret engineering and maintenance drawings and operational procedures to understand and synthesize large quantities of computer-related and system information
Coordinate document layout and design, maintain a current internal documentation library, and use multiple word processing and presentation tools such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and similar applications
Produce technical documentation for Cryptologic programs or projects developing analytic tradecraft methodologies and create, update, and monitor SharePoint, Confluence, or similar collaboration and documentation tools
Qualification

Must have the ability to prepare, assist in preparing, and maintain operations documentation, user guides, manuals, technical publications, reports, responses, and briefings targeted to a wide range of audiences, while working across all phases of documentation
Must possess the ability to gather and research highly technical subject matter, organize information from multiple sources, and express complex technical information in written form that is comprehensible to a broad audience
Must be capable of writing technical copy using basic grammar concepts and applying technical writing principles based on engineering drawings, engineering documentation, consultations with engineers and subject matter experts, and other available sources
Must have the ability to work collaboratively with developers to produce high-quality documentation and training materials, including defense acquisition documentation, user manuals, training manuals, and other documentation utilized by DoD end-user communities
Must possess the ability to interpret engineering and maintenance drawings and operational procedures to understand and synthesize large quantities of computer-related and system information
Must be capable of coordinating document layout and design, maintaining a current internal documentation library, and using multiple word processing and presentation tools such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and similar applications
Must have the ability to produce technical documentation for Cryptologic programs or projects developing analytic tradecraft methodologies and to create, update, and monitor SharePoint, Confluence, or similar collaboration and documentation tools
Must have six years of experience as a Technical Writer on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity, or ten years of Technical Writer experience if no bachelor's degree is held
Must have a bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline from an accredited college or university, or four additional years of Technical Writer experience may be substituted for the degree
Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph is required
