Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on biomedical equipment including diagnostic, therapeutic, and monitoring devices
Calibrate and test equipment to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and regulatory standards
Document all maintenance and repair activities accurately in the equipment management system
Collaborate with clinical staff to address equipment issues and provide technical support
Assist in the evaluation and installation of new biomedical equipment
Maintain inventory of parts and supplies necessary for equipment repair and maintenance
Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements such as OSHA, FDA, and Joint Commission
Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with technological advancements

Required

Associate degree or equivalent in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or related field
Minimum of 3 years experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician or similar role
Strong knowledge of medical device technology, electronics, and mechanical systems
Experience with diagnostic testing and calibration tools
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with clinical and technical teams
Valid driver's license and ability to travel between facilities as needed

Preferred

Certification such as CBET (Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician) preferred
