Responsibilities

Liaising on behalf of the office of C-suite leadership to help shape external engagements and programs, including coordination, scheduling, and invitation vetting for strategic events and meetings industry leaders, policy-makers and journalists
Directly managing event planning and engagement, being responsible for day-to-day decision making and project management, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks with meticulous attention to detail
Cultivating and establishing strategic partnerships with media and industry organizations to drive thought leadership goals on behalf of Verizon
Making strategic communications recommendations on behalf of Verizon executives on a regular basis, including where to position them and the language used to communicate core messages
Driving the development of high-level thought leadership materials, including briefing documents, talking points and high-impact social media content in support of Verizon’s C-suite to enhance brand reputation

Required

Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience
Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training
Experience liaising on behalf of the office of C-suite leadership, including meeting coordination, scheduling and invitation vetting
Experience establishing and growing strategic partnerships with media and industry organizations
Experience developing and executing comprehensive and impactful thought leadership plans for C-suite leadership
Willingness to travel between Basking Ridge, NJ and NYC
Willingness to travel as needed - approximately 25% of the time

Preferred

A degree in Public Relations, Communications or Journalism, with experience working as a corporate communications professional
Strong critical thinking skills to independently drive projects from concept through to strategy and execution with minimal supervision
Poised, polished and professional executive presence
Previous experience working with C-suite leadership and a strong understanding of executive protocols
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
Ability to articulate complex ideas effectively and build consensus among stakeholders
Strong oral and written communication skills, including grammar and proofreading
Proven ability to manage multiple work streams and responsibilities, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks with meticulous attention to detail
Capable of thriving in high-pressure and fast-paced environments with a high degree of flexibility
