Race Engine Technician

Responsibilities
Disassembly, cleaning, quality checking, crack testing using nondestructive methods
Make quality decisions based on known life/usage and condition of the parts
Engine and component record keeping to procedures
Inspection of engine components, and verification they are to the appropriate standard
Measure components to close tolerances
Set and verify part clearances to design documents
Verify conformance of parts to stock lists or blueprints using advanced measuring instruments, such as calipers, gauges, or micrometers
Accurate use of measuring equipment and the required hand tools
Meet or exceed quality standards
Other duties may be assigned
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or equivalent
1 to 3 years of recent engine experience in a low volume or custom application is preferred
Must have full knowledge of how an engine works and be very detail and service oriented
Proficient with computers and Microsoft applications
Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Effective communicator and collaborator
Able to work hard and maintain quality standards with tight deadlines
