Solution Engineer - Sales TMT
Coastal is seeking a Solution Engineer (CBS focus) to be a critical technical partner in our sales process, primarily focusing on the execution, support, and technical enablement for active opportunities in the Consumer & Business Services sector. This role requires strong technical execution and foundational knowledge of the Salesforce platform.

Responsibilities
Support and facilitate discovery and scoping sessions, focusing on gathering and documenting detailed technical and functional requirements from potential clients
Map brand goals across Consumer Goods Cloud, Loyalty Management, and Marketing Cloud personalization
Build clear level-of-effort estimates, staffing plans, timelines, and assumptions from discovery inputs and complexity drivers
Map pre-sales processes, identify bottlenecks, and recommend realistic agent use that reduces cycle time and improves consistency
Maintain templates, playbooks, and reusable components to improve speed, margin, and win rate
Prep and maintain demo environments (orgs) and conduct solution demos for potential clients
Present solution and commercial narratives to executives and technical stakeholders
Provide technical content for RFI, RFP, or RFQs as needed
Align pricing, terms, and assumptions with Sales and Delivery, and ensure a clean, documented handoff into execution
Qualification
Required
5+ years in pre-sales, solution architecture, or technical leadership in Salesforce consulting
Strong background in solution design for Retail, Travel, or Professional Services
Demonstrated success shaping complex deals, building estimates, responding to RFPs, and writing SOWs
Applied knowledge of Salesforce and the Sales, Services, and Marketing functions
Experience reviewing and refining AI-assisted outputs with a structured approach to quality, compliance, and brand tone
Ability to develop practical solutions and methodologies on the Salesforce platform
Proven ability to lead cross-functional work, and manage concurrent pursuits
Excellent communication skills with executives, product owners, and engineers
Must have full-time permanent US work authorization
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree preferred, or equivalent experience
Salesforce certifications
Experience with B2C data scale, point-of-sale (POS) integration, and real-time customer journey mapping
Track record improving pre-sales cycle time, accuracy, and margin through process redesign and automation
