Applied Scientist II, Amazon Industrial Robotics
Amazon Industrial Robotics is seeking exceptional talent to help develop the next generation of advanced robotics systems that will transform automation at Amazon's scale. The role involves designing and implementing methods for dexterous manipulation and developing systems that integrate low-level control with high-level planning using advanced robotics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

Responsibilities
Design and implement methods for dexterous manipulation
Design and implement methods for use of dexterous end effectors with force and tactile sensing
Develop a hierarchical system that combines low-level control with high-level planning
Utilize state-of-the-art manipulation models and optimal control techniques
Qualification
Required
PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience
Experience with state-of-the-art in robotic manipulation models
Experience with data generation in simulation and real world
Experience in developing techniques that utilize multi-modal sensor data from the arm and hands
Preferred
PhD in Robotics, with focus on dexterous manipulation
Experience in motion primitives, vision-language-action models, and model predictive control
Experience with robotics frameworks for fast prototyping (Matlab, ROS, etc.)
