Montgomery Parks is seeking individuals with a passion for working with people with disabilities for part-time employment opportunities. The role involves supporting participants in recreational programs, facilitating social interactions, and ensuring inclusion in activities.

Responsibilities

Provide support to individuals with disabilities to be included in general recreational programs with their peers
Actively participates in all program activities, assists with the adaptation of activities, and helps to facilitate social interactions
Advocates for the full inclusion of participants within the program
Maintains documentation and implements behavior plans as needed
Conducts sensitivity awareness activities and training on site as required

Required

Must have a desire and interest in working with people with disabilities
Minimum age 16 for Inclusion Aide
Minimum age 18 for Inclusion Support Staff I
Requires high school diploma and one year experience working with persons with disabilities or two or more years of work-related disability experience for Inclusion Support Staff I
Minimum age 19 for Inclusion Support Staff II
Requires two years of college in related field and one year experience working with persons with disabilities or four or more years of related disability experience for Inclusion Support Staff II
Requires four years of college in a related field or two years of college plus three years of experience working with people with disabilities or six or more years of related disability experience for Inclusion Support Staff III
All selected candidates must provide excellent customer service
Must maintain confidentiality regarding disability, medical, and personal information
All selected applicants must attend mandatory trainings: CPR, First Aid and AED; Inclusion/ Therapeutic Recreation Orientation; Disability Characteristics; Behavior Management techniques; and other designated trainings
A complete background investigation will be completed prior to hire

Preferred

Experience working in recreation programs
Experience working in childcare or education programs
Experience supporting children or adults with disabilities
