Special Event Assistant - Seasonal

Montgomery Parks is seeking Special Event Assistants to support various community events and programs throughout the year. The role involves assisting with event setup, monitoring activities, and providing customer service to attendees.

Responsibilities

Assist with the set up and breakdown of event spaces and equipment including tables, chairs, tents, signage, etc
Assist with loading and unloading vehicles for events
Monitor events on-site, including all event activities, ensuring safety and success of the event
Engage with event attendees and provide friendly, helpful customer service
Help maintain our special events inventory and warehouse located in Gaithersburg, MD
Provide support to Parks Activation staff
Perform related tasks as required

Qualification

Customer serviceSpecial events experienceBilingual/multilingualDriving large vehiclesLift 50 poundsWorking in various weather

Required

Must possess a valid Maryland driver's license
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Stand for at least two hours at a time
Walk at least a half a mile up and down moderate hills without difficulty
Tolerance for working in various weather conditions, including heat, rain, humidity, and cold

Preferred

Experience with special events equipment
Experience with and knowledge of special events
Previous customer service experience
Bilingual/multilingual
Experience driving large vehicles (pick-up truck and/or box truck)
