Responsibilities

Develop and implement specialized programs to prevent injuries or health impairment
Serve as a technical expert in a specialized area to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of a statewide program
Provide consultation and advice to state agencies, local governments, industrial associations, consulting firms, private groups, and department staff
Define and prioritize occupational exposure problems statewide
Research and write complex, highly technical operating policy and procedures
Serve as principal representative on negotiation teams to address issues and conflicts resulting from compliance or rule making
Lead inspection exemption programs and make recommendations to a manager
Serve as a lead consultant and/or train and mentor lower-level staff

Required
