Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain backend functionality within the ServiceNow platform, including Business Rules, Script Includes, Scheduled Jobs, and custom APIs
Configure and customize ServiceNow applications, such as ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CSM, or custom scoped apps
Integrate ServiceNow with external systems using REST/SOAP APIs and middleware tools
Develop and enforce coding standards, security best practices, and quality assurance procedures
Collaborate with front-end developers, ServiceNow administrators, and business analysts to deliver high-quality solutions
Participate in Agile development sprints, sprint planning, code reviews, and daily stand-ups
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to performance, security, and functionality
Document technical specifications, implementation steps, and solutions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
3+ years of experience developing on the ServiceNow platform
Strong experience with JavaScript, Glide API, and ServiceNow development tools
Hands-on experience with integrations using REST/SOAP, OAuth, MID Servers, etc
In-depth understanding of ServiceNow architecture and best practices
Experience with modules like ITSM, CMDB, Service Catalog, and Workflows
Strong knowledge of ServiceNow's scripting engine and server-side development
Preferred
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification
ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) certification
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git repositories for version control
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
Knowledge of database design, SQL, and data modeling concepts
Experience working in large enterprise environments
