Assistant Attorney General (Medicaid Fraud Unit)

The Oregon Department of Justice is seeking an attorney to serve in the Medicaid Fraud Unit as a Medicaid Fraud Prosecutor. The role involves investigating and prosecuting Medicaid providers for billing fraud and allegations of neglect and abuse of Medicaid clients, while collaborating with law enforcement agencies.

Responsibilities

Handle state criminal investigations and prosecutions
Lead a staff of investigators, auditors, a nurse investigator, and data analysts
Collaborate with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies on cases
Work with assistant attorney generals from other state Medicaid Fraud Control Units to investigate and resolve Medicaid fraud issues

Qualification

Oregon State Bar membershipCriminal litigation experienceProsecuting criminal casesOral advocacy skillsWritten advocacy skillsMulti-disciplinary teamworkCommitment to public service

Required

Active membership and in good standing with the Oregon State Bar at time of appointment
At least seven (7) years of criminal litigation experience
Willingness and availability to travel

Preferred

Commitment to public service
Strong oral and written advocacy skills
Extensive experience prosecuting criminal cases
History of working successfully in multi-disciplinary teams

Benefits

Base salary increased by 6.95% and pay a 6% employee contribution to PERS
