Responsibilities
Lead the full pre-opening lifecycle, including critical path planning and execution across a 12-month runway
Develop and manage hiring timelines, budgets, SOPs, training programs, and OS&E readiness
Coordinate closely with ownership, development, construction, procurement partners, and Marriott brand teams
Ensure readiness and integration of all systems including PMS, POS, sales, and finance platforms
Oversee soft-opening planning, service testing, and final operational readiness
Provide oversight and leadership across all hotel divisions including Rooms, Food and Beverage, Engineering, Sales and Marketing, Conference Services, Finance, Human Resources, and Security
Establish standards for guest experience, safety, and operational consistency
Serve as a visible, hands-on leader who sets the tone for service excellence
Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop a strong Executive Committee and leadership team
Build a culture focused on accountability, service excellence, and internal development
Drive retention, engagement, and leadership bench strength
Align staffing strategies with service standards and financial goals
Partner with Sales and Revenue teams to drive group, conference, corporate, and social business
Maximize conference and meeting space utilization as a core revenue driver
Collaborate with Marriott sales channels for market penetration
Lead local marketing, community engagement, and brand positioning efforts
Lead the strategic and operational execution of all food and beverage outlets
Ensure outlets function as both strong hotel amenities and competitive local destinations
Establish cost controls and profitability standards without compromising guest experience
Develop and manage pre-opening and annual budgets, forecasts, and business plans
Drive revenue growth, labor productivity, expense discipline, and profitability
Maintain strong communication and transparency with ownership
Lead capital planning and asset value protection initiatives
Ensure compliance with all Marriott brand standards and quality requirements
Lead guest satisfaction initiatives, quality audits, and online reputation management
Champion service recovery and rapid issue resolution
Maintain cleanliness, guest room readiness, and event execution consistency
Serve as the hotel’s primary ambassador within Cedar Park and the Austin metro area
Build relationships with local businesses, civic leaders, and community organizations
Represent the hotel in public, industry, and community settings
Qualification
Required
8 to 12 years of progressive hospitality leadership experience
Prior General Manager or equivalent senior leadership role in a full-service hotel
Strong operational command of rooms, multi-outlet food and beverage, and group or conference services
Proven financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, labor management, and profitability
Experience leading teams of 200 or more team members preferred
Authorized to work in the United States of America
Preferred
Marriott brand experience strongly preferred
Upper upscale hotel experience required
Pre-opening hotel experience highly preferred
Conference hotel or large event space leadership experience desired
