Project Manager II - GMP Facility

Responsibilities

Manages the initiation, planning and execution of large scale, complex and strategic multi-departmental projects related to clinical/business operations; communicates, presents and documents project plan, status updates, goals, and deliverables to executive sponsors, steering committees, project teams, and other stakeholders; identifies and manages project risks, issues, and opportunities proactively; ensures project deliverables are on time, high quality, and on budget; responsible for the successful completion of projects
Provides strategic direction for developing project plans specifying goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans and allocation of available resources
Monitors projects against budget, scope and timelines
Identifies and manages potential issues and risks across all projects in the project portfolio
Reviews project deliverable schedule, milestones, and required tasks; provides any changes and additions needed to be made to the project portfolio
Coordinates activities of the business/clinical units/departments and develops and maintains relationships with the executive sponsors, department leads, key stakeholders and project teams; ensures the business/clinical operational needs and objectives are met by the project
Partners with department managers to educate them on project concepts and facilitate determining business implications and opportunities
Manages the project scope to ensure business needs are met and the project scope as defined in the project vision and scope document is delivered, identifying, documenting and raising request for changes from original specifications; identifies strategic changes from original specifications across the project portfolio
Communicates plans, status, and issues proactively to the project teams, including department leads, key stakeholders and the executive team
Serves as the primary point of communication for the project
Monitors project documentation to ensure compliance with Project Management principles and corporate standards for projects
Designs and provides guidance around the structure and creation of the document repository for projects; posts documents to the project repository
Establishes clear ownership for project tasks; ensures that team members have the tools needed and provides timely feedback
Coordinates and facilitates delivery of project objectives
Tracks progress and reviews project tasks to ensure deadlines are met appropriately
Assesses project issues and identifies solutions to meet productivity, quality and project goals

Required

Master's degree in business, healthcare administration or a related field and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time experience in healthcare or business operations, including three (3) years engaged in project management activities
Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration or a related field and the equivalent of five (5) years of full-time experience in healthcare or business operations, including four (4) years engaged in project management activities
PMP certification

Preferred

PhD with experience in cell and gene therapy
Experience working with INDs
