SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN)

Responsibilities
You will perform and document necessary research, resulting in recommendations for employee growth and management
You will approve leave; recommend discipline, awards, and promotions; provide training and technical and career guidance; resolve work issues; and provide administrative support for personnel and financial management
You will plan, acquire, manage and allocate resources to oversee and support a wide range of associated management and planning activities on one or more complex projects throughout the entire life cycle
You will provide guidance and conduct performance evaluations
Under the guidance of the Deputy for Operations, make recommendations for the staffing, training, and development of personnel to support
You will maintain consistent and frequent dialogue with each employee in the branch, not only facilitating monitoring of individual performance and tasking, but also identifying and assigning training, providing coaching, and acting as an advocate
You will develop and maintain strategic plans; assessing policy needs and developing policies to govern IT activities; providing policy guidance to IT management, staff and customers; defining current and future business environments
Qualification
Required
Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check
Generally, current Federal employees applying for STRL jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level

You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics
I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, Problem Solving
In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-13 or pay band NM-04 in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector Providing technical and project management oversight
