Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) is seeking a History Full-Time Faculty member to teach and develop non-U.S. HISTORY courses. The role involves developing course materials, evaluating student learning, and participating in program development and outreach activities.

Responsibilities

Develop and teach non-U.S. HISTORY courses to a diverse student population using traditional and alternative delivery formats (hybrid, web, cohort, accelerated). Prepare course syllabi, course materials, evaluate student learning and maintain class records

Participate in program/curriculum development and assessment, student advising, department meetings, and college boards and committees. Perform related duties as assigned

Participate in continuing professional development to improve teaching, evaluation of student learning and classroom technique

Qualification

Master’s Degree in HistoryTeaching experienceCurriculum development18 graduate hours in non-U.S. HistoryInterpersonal relationshipsUnderstanding community college philosophyTeaching survey-level historyExperience in community collegeUse of standard office equipmentEffective communication

Required

Master's Degree in History from a regionally accredited institution

18 graduate semester hours in non-U.S. History

Minimum one-year related teaching experience at the postsecondary level

Understanding and acceptance of the comprehensive community college philosophy

Demonstrated competence teaching survey-level history courses in a traditional face-to-face Classroom

Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain interpersonal relationships

Expertise in curriculum development is required

Preferred

Additional knowledge of and experience teaching U.S. History survey preferred

Experience teaching survey courses in early and modern World and/or Western history preferred

Experience teaching in a community college preferred
