Program Director

Fort Wayne Urban League is dedicated to enabling African Americans and others to secure economic self-reliance, parity, power, and civil rights. The Program Director will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all programs, ensuring they meet community needs and achieve measurable impact within budget constraints.

Civic and Social Organizations

Responsibilities

Design, plan, and launch new programs and refine existing ones to align with organizational goals
Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate program staff; foster professional development and create a positive, accountable team environment
Develop and manage program budgets, track expenditures, and ensure fiscal responsibility
Collaborate with fundraising staff and ensure compliance with funder requirements
Cultivate relationships with community groups, schools, and partners to enhance program reach and resources; serve as a key external face of the organization
Track program outcomes, collect data, conduct evaluations, and report findings to leadership and funders
Work with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Board of Directors to set strategic goals. Integrate programs with overall organizational operations
Seek out and identify volunteers willing to support activities and programs of the organization
Maintain the execution of the day-to-day program operations at the Fort Wayne Urban League, ensuring quality services to all children and families
Help Fort Wayne Urban League CEO establish curriculum for educational programming and meet registration requirements by engaging with neighborhood children that are within walking distance to the Fort Wayne Urban League
Other duties as assigned to meet the goals of the organization

Required

Bachelor's Degree
1-2 years' experience working with children
4-5 years' experience with program development & execution of programs
Experience with project management techniques or willingness to learn
Valid Driver's License and willingness to travel to various work and meeting locations to meet with volunteers and staff
Dependable Transportation is a must
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed

Preferred

Degree in Education or Related Field is Preferred
Master's Degree Preferred
Bilingual Candidate is Preferred
Networking and Community building background a plus
