Responsibilities
Lead and support litigation involving commercial disputes, internal investigations, securities, regulatory enforcement, and employment discrimination
Conduct in-depth factual and legal research; draft persuasive motions, briefs, and client communications
Manage discovery, including document review, depositions, and evidentiary hearings
Collaborate with senior attorneys on white-collar defense and regulatory investigation projects
Represent public interest clients on cases involving gender and racial equity, LGBTQ+ rights, reproductive justice, immigrant rights, and democracy protection
Mentor junior staff and coordinate with operational teams for effective case management
Qualification
Required
Litigation or public interest experience gained at a law firm, federal clerkship, or nonprofit/advocacy organization
Strong academic credentials, with clerkship or notable recommendations a plus
Ability to manage complex matters independently and as part of a team
Demonstrated commitment to advancing public interest causes alongside commercial litigation
Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by start date
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school
Active membership in good standing of the D.C. Bar, or eligibility for admission
Advanced legal research and analytical reasoning
Strong drafting and oral advocacy skills
Ability to simplify complex issues for diverse audiences
Strong organizational and case-management proficiency
Dedication to civil rights and public interest advocacy while excelling in commercial litigation
