Senior Product Manager, Kubernetes Platform

Responsibilities
Define and drive the Hangar platform strategy, establishing how Lilly engineers leverage k8s to deploy services at organizational scale
Partner with technical leadership to align platform capabilities with enterprise architecture and security requirements
Drive end-to-end platform adoption through technical user engagement, education, documentation, and enablement
Understand the platform ecosystem and how AI Agents can improve it
Reference CNCF and other sources to provide the Hangar technical leads with product requirements
Written product requirements documentation and alignment
Gather customer feedback and translate technical requirements into platform features
Monitor industry trends in platform engineering, developer experience, AI ops, and cloud-native technologies
Partner with technical pod leads to ensure platform roadmap reflects real-world engineering challenges
Serve as the voice of the developer, advocating for improvements that reduce toil and increase velocity
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
8+ years of product management experience with at least 3 years in developer platforms or infrastructure products
Experience working in cloud-native environments with container orchestration
Strong expertise in Kubernetes (k8s), deployment patterns, and operations
Experience with service architecture, networking fundamentals, and distributed systems
Familiarity with CI/CD tooling, infrastructure as code, and deployment automation
Demonstrated ability to influence technical stakeholders and drive platform adoption
Excellence in translating technical concepts into compelling product narratives
Strong customer empathy and a growth mindset
Outstanding communication skills with ability to engage developers and technical leaders
Proficiency in agile software development
