Production Associate I- MACHINING- 1ST SHIFT

This role involves operating machines and production equipment while ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and productivity standards in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
Power wash cleaning of crankshafts and cylinder blocks
Detailed inspection of crankshafts
Operation of basic polishing machines
Manual cleaning of cylinder block surfaces and threaded holes using power tools and abrasives
Detailed inspection of cylinder blocks
Use of cranes and basic measurement equipment (e.g., bore gauges, micrometers)
Following documented work instructions and procedures
Recording process and inspection results as required
Operating a milling machine (for more skilled operators)
Supporting problem-solving and continuous improvement investigations
Performing all tasks in compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) requirements
Stop work and immediately report any major injury hazards
Report work-related injuries, illnesses, incidents, or unsafe conditions
Comply with all HSE policies, procedures, and regulations
Use required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Promote a safe, interdependent work culture
Correct hazards within scope of control
Minimize environmental impact related to work activities
Participate in required HSE training
Follow standard work, process documentation, and quality procedures including SPC, poka-yoke, and visual standards
Perform quality inspections and identify non-conforming material
Raise quality concerns to minimize cost and risk
Meet required cycle times and engineering standards
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including routine housekeeping and machine cleaning
Perform planned operator care and basic maintenance tasks
Remain flexible and perform additional duties as needed to meet production goals
Work with peers, skilled trades, and support staff to identify and address equipment repair needs
Communicate effectively with assigned teams and support groups
Complete required training and ongoing development
Actively participate in continuous improvement efforts related to safety, quality, process, material flow, and employee development
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent (or relevant experience meeting regulatory requirements)
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment
Machine operation experience
Knowledge and use of hand tools
Strong communication skills
