Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, strategies, and execution frameworks that align with Louth Callan's organizational objectives, client specifications, and regulatory compliance in the utility scale power sector
Lead pre-bid site assessments, detailed risk analyses, and feasibility studies to identify potential challenges, optimize resource utilization, and enhance project viability from the outset
Oversee all phases of project execution, including close collaboration with engineering design teams, procurement specialists, construction crews, commissioning experts, and operations personnel to ensure seamless integration and efficient workflows
Manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation with precision, utilizing advanced tools to track progress, forecast variances, and implement adjustments for cost-effective and timely delivery
Continuously monitor project performance metrics, proactively identify emerging risks, delays, or issues, and deploy robust mitigation strategies, including contingency planning and corrective actions
Build, mentor, and lead high-performing, multidisciplinary project teams, cultivating a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, professional development, and excellence while providing ongoing support and growth opportunities
Partner closely with Safety and Quality Assurance departments to define project-specific goals, establish performance benchmarks, and enforce protocols that prioritize worker safety, environmental stewardship, and superior craftsmanship
Establish and maintain effective communication channels, fostering strong, trust-based relationships with internal stakeholders (such as senior leadership and cross-functional teams) and external parties (including clients, vendors, subcontractors, regulatory agencies, and utility partners)
Dynamically adapt project plans, timelines, and budgets in response to evolving site conditions, market fluctuations, or unforeseen challenges to safeguard overall project success
Ensure strict adherence to quality standards, industry best practices (e.g., IEEE, NERC, and OSHA guidelines), and all applicable regulatory requirements throughout the entire project lifecycle, from planning to handover
Champion continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing project data, soliciting team feedback, and implementing process enhancements to boost efficiency, productivity, safety, and overall performance across the portfolio
Prepare and deliver detailed financial reports, progress updates, risk assessments, and forecasts during recurring status meetings for senior management, clients, and other key stakeholders to maintain transparency and informed decision-making
Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams to ensure a smooth, efficient transition from construction and commissioning phases to operational handover, including knowledge transfer, training, and asset optimization
Conduct thorough final inspections, audits, and documentation reviews to confirm project completion, verify compliance with contractual obligations, and facilitate closeout processes, including warranty management and lessons learned sessions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical), Construction Management, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred
Extensive proven experience in senior-level project management, engineering, and construction roles, with a strong emphasis on utility scale power infrastructure projects such as substations, transmission lines, renewable energy systems, and grid modernization
Deep technical expertise in utility scale power systems, including design principles, installation techniques, commissioning processes, and operational best practices for components like high-voltage substations, solar PV arrays, wind integration, and energy storage solutions
Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with a track record of inspiring, motivating, and developing cross-functional teams in high-stakes, fast-paced environments
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse groups and resolution of complex issues
Proficiency in advanced project management tools and software, including Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, and ERP systems for budgeting and reporting
Hands-on experience with substation commissioning, including testing, energization, and integration into utility grids, with a solid understanding of electrical safety protocols and standards

An advanced degree is preferred
Relevant professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PE, LEED AP, or NABCEP) are highly preferred
