Information Technology Specialist (SECURITY)

The Joint Munitions Command, located at McAlester, OK, is seeking an Information Technology Specialist (SECURITY) to serve as the installation Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO). Responsibilities

Install, configure and upgrade variety of network appliances and applications such as firewalls, intrusion detection and protection systems, wireless intrusions detection system, web filtering devices, and other similar devices as necessary
Provide guidance and assistance in developing policy and operational procedures to enhance the security posture of McAlester Army Ammunition Plant systems and data
Enforce existing regulations and directives
Perform staff assignments related to program planning, monitoring, and/or coordination of the systems life cycle function
Perform analysis to determine root cause of vulnerabilities and best methodology to remediate identified vulnerabilities
Collect audit and usage data and prepare reports for senior management

Required

One year of specialized experience which includes: Experience developing local policies and procedures pertaining to IT information Assurance (IA) for the Command
Experience providing customer support to resolve security vulnerabilities
Experience updating tools and systems with latest system releases to mitigate threats
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail
Customer Service - Works with clients and customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations
Oral Communication - Expresses information to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management
Three full years of graduate education from an accredited or pre-accredited institution that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation
Per DoDM 8140.03, must maintain cyber role requirements: 1) Foundational qual (within 9 months), 2) Resident qual (within 12 months), and 3) 20 hours annual CPD (Continuous Professional Development) per role
This position may require occasional TDY business travel
Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09)
If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program
