8+ years expApTask is a leading global provider of workforce solutions and talent acquisition services. They are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Architect to lead the modernization of their legacy SQL-based data environment into a scalable, well-governed, modern data warehouse.

Responsibilities
Analyze and assess existing legacy SQL databases and poorly structured data models
Design and implement a modern data warehouse architecture (cloud or hybrid)
Lead data migration, transformation, and optimization efforts from legacy systems
Establish best practices for data modeling, governance, quality, and security
Work closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics needs
Ensure compliance with financial services regulatory and data security standards
Optimize performance, scalability, and reliability of data platforms
Provide technical leadership and documentation for data architecture decisions
Collaborate with engineering, analytics, and business teams across the organization
Travel to Indianapolis once a month or once every 45 days for on-site collaboration
Qualification
Required
8 years of experience in data architecture or related roles
Strong hands-on experience with SQL, legacy database modernization, and data migrations
Proven experience designing and implementing modern data warehouses
Mandatory background in financial services (banking, insurance, investment, fintech, etc.)
Expertise in data modeling (dimensional, normalized, hybrid models)
Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Azure Synapse, etc.)
Strong understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration tools
Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance requirements
Ability to work independently and drive projects end-to-end under tight timelines
Preferred
Experience modernizing highly complex or 'messy' legacy data environments
Familiarity with BI and analytics tools
Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Prior experience in consulting or transformation-led roles
