Responsibilities
The Senior Data Engineer role will be responsible for providing technical expertise for solution design for medium to complex data work efforts, hands-on development, code reviews and QA for the current state Teradata Warehouse platform, The role may also include work related to the Target State Cloud platform Strategy, Roadmap, and Migration activities. The candidate will lead Design and Development on BMG Teradata and GCP applications using ETL(Abinito/SSIS), DBS-SQL(Teradata/SQL server), and Google Biq Query
Lead complex initiatives with broad impact and act as key participant in large scale software planning for the Technology area
Design, develop, and run tooling to discover problems in data and applications and report the issues to engineering and product leadership
Review and analyze complex software enhancement initiatives for business, operational or technical improvements that require in depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors
Make decisions in complex and multi-faceted data engineering situations requiring understanding of software package options and programming language and compliance requirements that influence and lead Technology to meet deliverables and drive organizational change
Strategically collaborate and consult with internal partners to resolve highly risky data engineering challenges
Qualification
Required
7+ years of software engineering experience
7+ years of experience working with Teradata
5+ years ETL AbInitio
5+ Advanced SQL
3 + years of cloud computing experience
3+ years of experience with Google Big Query
Preferred
5+ years of experience with Spark, python
3+ years of experience with secure DevOps and deployment automation to cloud environments
3+ years of Agile experience
Strong analytical skills
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
An industry-standard technology Cloud certification
Working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Experience communicating and presenting complex information to multiple levels of the organization
Experience successfully escalating complex issues and tracking follow-through to completion
Strong collaboration and partnering skills
