Digital Account Director
Valnet is looking for a dynamic Digital Account Director to join Military.com, the premier site for the military and veteran community. The role involves managing an established book of business while also hunting for new accounts, requiring a strong track record in digital media sales and the ability to craft high-value sponsorships and creative solutions.
Responsibilities
Fully own, manage and aggressively grow a book of business, ensuring retention and consistent growth across accounts. This includes identifying, prospecting, and building out opportunities with existing and new clients to grow Military.com’s advertiser partners
Take complete responsibility for your sales pipeline and strategy, proactively identifying opportunities to expand Military.com’s advertiser relationships
Consistently achieve progressive sales goals that support company revenue growth objectives
Research competitive market trends to identify untapped opportunities and consistently position Military.com as the leading solution for advertisers seeking the military and veteran audience
Pitch imaginative, high-value solutions that go beyond standard CPM-based sales, creating large-scale advertising opportunities through high-impact sponsorships, customized campaigns, and branded content storytelling
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients at all levels, acting as their trusted consultant for reaching the military and veteran audiences
Exceptional presentation and delivery of strategic, compelling sales presentations to senior decision-makers at brands and agencies showcasing how Military.com's unique audience supports their business objectives
Work closely with client success, ad operations, creative, and product teams to design tailored packages and proposals that align with Military.com’s brand voice and deliver client objectives. This person must be able to clearly understand and communicate client KPIs to ensure campaign clarity and flawless execution
Partner with creative and production teams to bring custom concepts to life, ensuring alignment with client goals and Military.com’s editorial voice
Qualification
Required
Minimum 5+ years of experience in digital media sales, with expertise in display, online video (OLV), and high-impact advertising formats
Proven track record of progressive goal attainment and consistently exceeding sales goals
Experience selling creative solutions such as custom branded content, sponsorships, and large-scale, high-value advertising programs
Ability to sell big ideas, not just ad units—taking a consultative, solution-driven approach to meet advertiser needs
Deep expertise in digital advertising KPIs and metrics and the ability to use data to craft compelling client narratives
Exceptional presentation and communication skills, with a proven ability to pitch high-value, creative solutions to senior-level decision-makers
Skilled at building relationships across industries, with advertising experience in verticals such as finance, government, education, defense, consumer products, and/or technology
Proven ability to navigate and close complex, high-revenue deals in a fast-paced environment
Extreme ownership mindset: Takes complete responsibility for both success and setbacks, leading their business with accountability and focus
Entrepreneurial self-starter with a strong ability to prioritize, build relationships, and execute on ambitious growth goals
Persistent, results-driven, and highly competitive, with a relentless focus on achieving and surpassing revenue objectives
Preferred
Knowledge of new media (YouTube, Podcasts, etc.) and programmatic advertising is a plus
Passion for or knowledge of the military and veteran audience is a strong advantage
