Responsibilities
Duties include examining the chain of title for all of the company’s title orders, identifying and resolving title issues, determining insurability and issuing title commitments
Perform take down exams for company’s affiliated home building division transactions
Perform other duties as directed by the manager or as appropriate to share the office work- load to include but not limited to miscellaneous clerical duties and assisting local branches in closing transactions
Qualification
Required
High school degree or higher education level required
Minimum 3 years experience in performing commercial title examination on real property
Practical knowledge of Federal, State and local regulations and procedures governing real estate issues
Comprehensive knowledge of the Land Records Information System and the ability to interpret data retrieved from the computer system
Good writing skills and knowledge of standard phraseology and terminology commonly used in title policy writing
Regular, in-person attendance at Company communities/job sites and offices during regular work hours is an essential function of this job
Requires the ability to work more than eight hours per day in the confined quarters of a construction trailer
The ability to operate a motor vehicle
Read plans
Climb stairs and ladders
Bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and/or carry equipment which may be in excess of 50 pounds
Job may require occasional operation of construction equipment
Finger dexterity may be required to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
Preferred
DataTrace experience highly preferred
