Senior Accountant
Georgia-Pacific is currently seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team! This role creates value for the organization by providing higher level accounting support for the Building Products segment and mills.

Responsibilities
Month-end close process and review for the Building Products segment, ensuring the accuracy of the general ledger through proper accounting treatment
Monthly/quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations; investigate differences, and determine resolution to resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Provide ad hoc information support and analysis to other departments (Operating Management, Tax, Audit, Corporate, etc.)
Own processes and promote innovative ideas for accounting workflows to create efficiency and reduce waste
Drive transformation by respectfully challenging historical practices and leveraging technology enablers and automation tools
Contribute to our control environment, ensuring ownership and application of our Internal Financial Controls (IFC) Framework
Advance the Principle-Based Management® (PBM®) culture by applying and reinforcing the company’s Values
Qualification
Required
Experience in an Accounting or Finance focused role(s) that requires a working knowledge of financial accounting principles, the general ledger, month end close, account reconciliation and analysis, and the purpose/application of internal financial controls
Confident Communicator: You have strong interpersonal skills and engage with others effectively via telephone, email, chat, and video calls - you are comfortable being seen and heard
Collaboration/Contribution mindset: You seek to build working relationships and partner with others to bridge gaps and solve problems
Process and Transformation focused: You are flexible and able to prioritize your work in a dynamic environment, embrace change, and improve processes
Systems and Tools savvy: You have experience with Microsoft Office Suite or Office 365; (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Co-Pilot) and a desire to learn new accounting systems and tools
Preferred
Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or Business
Several years of large company career experience in an Accounting or Analysis role (working in the General Ledger, Intercompany Transactions, Accruals, Account Reconciliations, Variance Analysis, creating Journal Entries and supporting Month-End close)
Proficiency with extract-transform-load (ETL) tools such as Alteryx to transform/automate processes
SAP and/or SAP S4Hana experience
Experience driving process improvement or transformation
Manufacturing industry experience is a plus!
