Responsibilities

Negotiate with vendors and subcontractors regarding terms and conditions, pricing, schedule, etc
Contact vendors and subcontracts and maintain a positive vendor/subcontractor relationship
Research and source new suppliers
Organize and maintain vendor and subcontractor database
Issue RFXs and ITBs (Invitation to Bid) packages
Receive, distribute and evaluate proposals with a commercial lens and make Recommendations to Award
Issue purchase orders and subcontracts
Ensure receipt of order acknowledgements/confirmations and verify costs
Maintain equipment status reports for projects
Identify, communicate, and mitigate any potential lead time issues
Develop and maintain necessary records and files for efficient operation
Manage procurement logistics
Invoice review and submittal

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in business, economics, marketing, or related field preferred
10+ years' experience in buying and expediting Engineered Equipment
10+ years' experience developing contracting/procurement strategies/sourcing/pre-qualification of vendors or subcontractors
Strong written and oral communication skills
Advanced MS Office Suite knowledge
Previous experience in the development of bid packages/RFPs
Ability to negotiate costs, advise on contracting strategies and understand scope control
Experience in Procurement Strategy Development within the biotech/pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities and laboratories industry
Demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional, multi-disciplined teams

Preferred

Construction Procurement background preferred
Familiarity with an ERP system such as Deltek, Visual, Oracle, Procore, Epicor, JDE is an added plus
