Responsibilities
Serve as the Planning and Inventory Operations (PIM Ops) subject matter expert for Import Warehouses (IWs), Third-Party Logistic Storage (3PL), and Target’s upstream allocation product, ALO
Connect Global Supply Chain & Logistics (GSCL) partners with Planning and Inventory Management (PIM) teams to influence both near-term execution and long-term upstream strategy
Shape how inventory flows through Target’s upstream network to support availability, efficiency, and guest experience
Partner with field operations, product, inventory management, and S&OP teams to improve inventory flow through import warehouses, troubleshoot site-level issues, and stay closely connected to execution through regular site and planning calls
Lead identification and execution of 3PL offsite storage opportunities, including determining item eligibility, coordinating inventory transfers, and evaluating tradeoffs between DC capacity relief, transfer costs, and purchasability outcomes
Apply a data-driven, guest-first mindset to uncover root causes and opportunities related to upstream allocation, replenishment, and inventory positioning
Deliver insights to cross-functional teams and leaders, support continuous improvement of analytical tools and operational processes, and influence decisions related to network topology and inventory flow strategies
Lead routine work and monthly engagements with TII partners, proactively communicating with senior leaders, and acting as a positive change agent in a dynamic, ambiguous environment
Qualification
Required
Strong Excel and data analysis skills, extremely detail oriented, and naturally curious
2+ years of inventory management experience at Target
Working knowledge of Target replenishment systems (legacy and modern)
Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills
Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and lead through ambiguity
Comfortable engaging TII partners and participating in early-morning calls, as early as 7am CST, monthly or as needed
Willingness to adapt and flex across workstreams as business priorities evolve
Preferred
Experience with SQL/BR3 preferred, or a strong willingness to learn; training provided through Target tools and resources via a blend of manager-led and self-paced learning
