Structural Engineering Intern
Superior Walls of America, Ltd. has been providing innovative foundation solutions since 1981, and they are seeking a Structural Engineering Intern or Co-Op to join their team. The role involves assisting with structural analysis and design, communicating with stakeholders, and developing innovative solutions in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
Serve our partners with the highest degree of professionalism and integrity
Communicate clearly and professionally with teammates, management, and stakeholders
Assist with the structural analysis and design of precast concrete foundation components and anchorage
Assist with the analysis and design of wood connections and beam members
Calculate wind, snow, dead, and live loads on residential buildings as required
Become familiar with building codes such as IBC, IRC, ACI 318, ASCE 7
Assist with the development of standard drawing and production details
Review project drawings for thoroughness and conformance to requirements
Assist with researching and developing innovative solutions to challenges and constraints
Create & maintain a database of project details & pertinent technical information
Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualification
Required
Must be currently enrolled in an ABET accredited four-year Civil, Structural, Architectural, or related Engineering program in third or fourth year of coursework

Qualified candidates must be citizens of the United States
Preferred
Experience in residential construction is a plus
Familiarization with drafting & BIM programs such as Revit and SolidWorks is a plus
Desire to pursue licensure: Have passed or are preparing to pass Fundamentals of Engineering Exam and eventually obtain Professional Engineer license in multiple states
