Responsibilities

Partner with researchers to translate high-level clinical questions into precise technical data requirements and well-defined datasets
Architect, build, and maintain research-ready datasets using structured clinical and healthcare data
Write, validate, and optimize complex SQL queries across large-scale relational databases to ensure high performance and data integrity
Act as the subject matter expert for Epic-sourced data (Clarity/Caboodle), navigating complex schemas to support analytics needs
Rigorously audit data for accuracy and completeness, ensuring all deliverables meet the highest standards for research integrity
Contribute to the continuous evolution of data pipelines, warehousing strategies, and analytical workflows
Document methodologies and communicate complex technical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders and research partners

Required

Mastery of SQL, including expert-level knowledge of complex joins, subqueries, and performance optimization
Hands-on experience navigating Epic EHR databases (Clarity, Caboodle, or similar environments)
Proven experience working within large relational databases or enterprise data warehouse environments
A strong background in healthcare, clinical data, or research analytics is required
Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to spot anomalies in large, complex datasets
Ability to pivot communication styles between technical engineering teams and clinical research staff
Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field (equivalent practical experience will be considered)
