Human Resources Manager
Freedman Consulting, LLC is a mission-driven consulting firm seeking a proactive and experienced Human Resources Manager to oversee their HR functions. The role involves managing HR operations, employee engagement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with employment laws while working closely with staff at all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of benefits administration, including overseeing the open enrollment process, reconciling invoices, and providing ongoing guidance to employees on their benefit options
Lead both employee onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a seamless transition for staff
Drive and manage the execution of key staff events, including an annual all-staff retreat, learning lunches, and regular in-person and virtual staff gatherings
Oversee the administration and smooth execution of the firm's progress review process
Collaborate with the HR & Operations team to support the execution of the firm’s professional development strategy to facilitate learning and growth opportunities for staff
Serve as the initial point of contact for routine employee relations matters and conflicts; provide guidance to staff and managers on performance issues, disciplinary actions, and interpretation of firm policies to foster a positive and fair work environment
Assist the Director, HR & Operations, in the development, review, and implementation of HR policies and procedures, guaranteeing compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws
Monitor and ensure compliance with established firm policies, developing clear and effective staff communications to promote understanding and adherence to policies and operational guidelines
Facilitate weekly all staff meetings to support internal communication and engagement
Partner with the Director of HR and Operations to foster a positive employee experience and firm culture, including by suggesting and implementing initiatives that drive high employee morale and engagement
Provide oversight for HR systems, ensuring data accuracy and efficiency
Optimize and streamline various HR processes, systems and workflows
Qualification
Required
Demonstrated experience in an HR Generalist or HR Manager role, handling a variety of hands-on human resources functions, including benefits administration, employee lifecycle management (recruiting, onboarding & offboarding), employee engagement and relations, policy and compliance management, and performance management
Demonstrated experience managing or maintaining HRIS platforms
Proven knowledge of federal and state labor laws and benefits regulations
Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment in a role that requires proactivity, successful project planning, and execution with a high level of attention to detail
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
Approximately 5-7 years of previous Human Resources generalist experience
Preferred
Experience with Rippling HRIS platform
