HR Director
Turner Mining Group is seeking an experienced and strategic Human Resources Director to lead and manage all aspects of human resources for their growing contract mining organization. This role involves developing and executing HR strategies that align with business objectives while ensuring compliance and promoting a strong safety- and performance-driven culture.

Responsibilities
Lead and oversee all HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits, and training
Partner with executive leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that support company growth and operational needs
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including those relevant to mining and construction environments
Manage talent acquisition efforts for both salaried and hourly roles across corporate and field operations
Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook updates
Provide guidance and support to managers on employee relations matters, disciplinary actions, and performance issues
Oversee benefits administration, payroll coordination, and HRIS systems
Lead workforce planning, succession planning, and employee development initiatives
Support safety culture initiatives in coordination with operations and safety leadership
Analyze HR metrics and trends to support data-driven decision-making
Manage and mentor HR staff as the department grows
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
8+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership or director-level role
Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and best HR practices
Proven ability to work effectively with field-based and corporate teams
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred
Master's degree
Experience in mining, construction, heavy civil, or industrial environments
Experience supporting multi-state or multi-site operations
SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or similar professional certification
