Interns will have the opportunity to work in various departments, assisting with operations related to water and wastewater management, maintenance, engineering, communications, and customer service.

Responsibilities
Work alongside licensed water operators and laboratory analysts and assist in the operations and monitoring of water treatment equipment and processes to ensure the delivery of clean and safe drinking water to the community
Assist a team of licensed wastewater operators and water treatment specialists in the treatment of contaminated water by breaking down contaminants in wastewater, so our communities receive safe, clean water in their homes and businesses
Work as part of a team of water maintenance professionals in performing construction, maintenance and repair duties, including hydrant maintenance, replacement and repair, water main repair and replacement, flow testing, well maintenance, meter reading, and new service installations
Work alongside project engineers and engineering technicians in the planning, designing, and managing of infrastructure systems related to the safe and efficient distribution and treatment of water
Assist the Authority’s communications team in fostering transparent and open dialogue with our community by providing accurate and timely information regarding our services and ensuring public trust and understanding of our vital role in delivering safe, reliable water while promoting responsible water usage and conservation practices
Work as part of a team of customer service professionals in public-facing interactions, managing account inquiries, processing payments, and assisting with service orders
Qualification
Required
High school applicants must be rising seniors and attend a high school located in Douglas County, Georgia
College and technical school applicants must currently be enrolled in coursework
All applicants must provide a resume and complete the application thoroughly
