Responsibilities
Lead hands-on startup and ramp-up of a polymer film extrusion line
Operate equipment side-by-side with operators to establish best practices
Set, adjust, and optimize extrusion process parameters
Troubleshoot mechanical, material, and process issues in real time
Exercise authority to stop or adjust the line when safety, quality, or equipment integrity is at risk
Lead initial and ongoing operator training
Teach both machine operation and polymer process fundamentals
Establish standard operating conditions and disciplined execution
Build operator confidence to reduce dependence on engineering intervention
Ensure knowledge transfer is practical, repeatable, and embedded
Own uptime, throughput, yield, scrap, and material usage
Identify and eliminate sources of downtime, waste, and variability
Drive continuous improvement through floor-tested solutions
Establish stable operating windows balancing quality, speed, and cost
Analyze and explain performance and material variances with clear root cause logic
Interface with equipment suppliers and material vendors as needed
Own end-to-end film quality performance
Develop and refine quality specifications and acceptance criteria
Implement in-line, post-production, and lab-based quality checks
Direct laboratory support activities tied to production quality
Lead corrective actions for quality deviations
Partner with technical and lab resources to align standards and data
Work directly with maintenance to diagnose and resolve equipment issues
Translate process symptoms into actionable mechanical insights
Partner with production leadership to align priorities
Communicate clearly when standards are not being met
Support new product development once line stability is achieved
Assist with trials, material changes, and process experimentation
Translate lab concepts into scalable production reality
Balance innovation with operational discipline
Qualification
Required
Blown / Polymer Film Extrusion Experience
Hands-on experience in launching, stabilizing, and scaling polymer film extrusion lines
Ability to operate equipment side-by-side with operators
Experience in setting, adjusting, and optimizing extrusion process parameters
Troubleshooting mechanical, material, and process issues in real time
Authority to stop or adjust the line when safety, quality, or equipment integrity is at risk
Experience in leading initial and ongoing operator training
Knowledge of polymer process fundamentals
Ability to establish standard operating conditions and disciplined execution
Ownership of uptime, throughput, yield, scrap, and material usage
Experience in identifying and eliminating sources of downtime, waste, and variability
Ability to drive continuous improvement through floor-tested solutions
Experience in analyzing and explaining performance and material variances
