Responsibilities
Performs chlorine level and bacteriological sampling and checks
Performs pumping station checks
Installs water meters and boxes at new construction sites
Removes and replaces broken and inoperative water meters
Performs water meter readings
Handles water line problems and repairs leaking water lines
Answers customer questions, resolves complaints and billing disputes
Completes work orders and tracks work with County work order software
Shares an on-call shift for after hour customer support, emergency response
Conducts maintenance and groundskeeping at Water Department properties and facilities (treatment plants, master meters, tanks, booster stations, etc.)
Assists with asphalt and concrete repairs
Performs all duties in safe and efficient manner
Performs all other duties as assigned by supervision
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license
Preferred
Experience in the operation, maintenance and repair of potable water facilities
Water Certification by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management
Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B
Continued employment may be contingent upon employee obtaining a CDL license within twelve months of employment
