Responsibilities
Execute approved project plans and manage all phases of project delivery, including safety, scope, cost, schedule, cash flow, quality, and risk
Coordinate acquisition of resources, equipment, permits, land, and land rights
Monitor, control, and communicate project performance to customers and stakeholders
Manage project changes and ensure achievement of all project objectives
Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to develop and evaluate project alternatives
Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, cost estimates, schedules, and cash flow, with consideration for safety, environmental, regulatory, and risk factors
Lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams, engaging engineering, construction, operations, project controls, environmental, land, procurement, legal, and other internal groups as required
Support development, approval, and administration of the business unit’s ten-year capital investment plan
Negotiate, execute, and administer agreements with customers, suppliers, service providers, and contractors
Oversee project close-out activities, including final acceptance, ownership transfer, audits, true-ups, and final reporting
Mentor junior project management and project controls staff
Ensure compliance with all applicable company policies, codes, and local, state, and federal regulations
Perform related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited institution
7+ years of experience in utility design and/or utility operations
2+ years of project management experience
Strong knowledge of utility engineering practices, particularly transmission and substation design
Proficiency in critical path method (CPM) scheduling and work breakdown structures (WBS)
Understanding of utility accounting, economic analysis, construction methods, and contract administration
Familiarity with equipment specifications, property rights, and permitting processes
Ability to lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams
Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
Preferred
Experience managing Large Generator Interconnection projects
