Responsibilities
Serve as the Mainframe Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing deep technical guidance and support
Participate in infrastructure planning, offering insights into the current and future direction of mainframe technologies
Maintain a thorough understanding of current and emerging infrastructure and its impact across the organization
Establish, maintain, document, and publish mainframe language standards, development tool strategies, and technology roadmaps
Coordinate and support cross-departmental projects, including mainframe application migrations
Demonstrate broad technical knowledge across multiple technologies or deep expertise in a specific mainframe technology and its dependencies
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, quickly learning and applying new concepts
Build and maintain productive relationships with internal stakeholders, external customers, vendors, and industry peers
Ensure comprehensive documentation of complex technical systems to support effective operational handover
Lead and support implementation efforts, including:
Analyzing vendor proposals
Evaluating build vs. buy decisions
Developing end-to-end project plans and identifying critical paths
Coordinating vendors and resources
Building, executing, and validating test plans
Tracking and reporting on project progress
Qualification
Required
Technical degree or equivalent relevant work experience
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience across multiple disciplines within the mainframe domain
Proven application design and development expertise in mainframe environments
Expert-level knowledge of mainframe operating systems and hardware
