Customer Care Representative
LHH is seeking Customer Care Advocates to join their collaborative team within the Operating Engineers Health, Pension, and Vacation Funds. This role involves managing subrogation claims and providing customer service to participants and providers, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with protocols.
Responsibilities
Handle subrogation claims (loss of time, medical, hearing aids, life insurance), ensuring accuracy of payments, denials, and documentation
Manage claims end-to-end: tracking, correspondence, payment updates, attorney instructions, vendor communication
Provide customer service to participants, beneficiaries, union locals, and providers via phone, email, and occasional walk-ins (less than 10%)
Maintain strong working knowledge of assigned plan(s) across health, pension, and vacation funds
Document all interactions and actions taken in internal systems and case notes
Process and send required forms, mailers, and member correspondence
Update enrollments, eligibility, and member information in the appropriate platforms
Generate Action Requests to other departments and follow through until completed
Research and resolve complex technical or irregular issues
Assist the team with phone coverage and cross-functional support
Ensure compliance with PHI/PII confidentiality and organizational information-security protocols
Perform additional duties as required by the team or supervisor
Qualification
Required
Minimum 2 years of claims experience (medical or loss-of-time preferred)
Strong understanding of claims workflows, subrogation, documentation, and vendor/attorney communication
Clear, professional communication skills — written and verbal
Excellent organization, attention to detail, and follow-through
High integrity and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction
Ability to interpret technical documents, benefit plans, business materials, and regulations
Proficiency with MS Office and comfort navigating multiple systems
Collaborative attitude and a desire to work in a supportive, drama-free environment
High School Diploma or GED required
Preferred
Call center experience in benefits, billing, or eligibility
Bilingual (Spanish preferred but not required)
