Responsibilities
End-to-end accounts receivable follow-up and charge entry for ABA services
Active management and recovery of aged AR
Review, research, and resolution of ABA-specific denials and rejections
Phone appeals, reconsiderations, and payor follow-ups
Verification of authorizations, units, modifiers, and benefits
Identification of denial trends and root-cause issues—and communicating them clearly to leadership
Ensuring compliance with payor rules, timely filing limits, and medical necessity requirements
Working payor portals, EDI transactions, and correspondence efficiently
Supporting clinical and client services by ensuring accurate, timely reimbursement
Qualification
Required
2–4 years of medical billing and collections experience
Hands-on experience with ABA or behavioral health billing
Solid knowledge of ABA CPT codes (97151–97158) and ICD-10 diagnoses
Experience with units-based billing, authorizations, and treatment plans
Familiarity with Medicaid, Medicaid MCOs, and commercial behavioral health payors
Confidence navigating payor portals and billing systems
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
A problem-solving mindset—you don't let claims sit
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A clear understanding of HIPAA compliance
Preferred
Experience with CentralReach and Salesforce
