Contract W2: non-Epic Project Manager – Data Archiving & Conversion
KPG99 INC is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead data archiving and data conversion initiatives across hospital and clinical environments. This role will manage complex, cross-functional projects involving legacy EHR systems and third-party archiving solutions to support system transitions and upgrades.
Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end data archiving and data conversion projects for hospitals, health systems, and provider organizations
Manage projects involving non-Epic EHR platforms (e.g., Cerner/Oracle Health, MEDITECH, Allscripts/Altera, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, homegrown or legacy systems)
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, risks, and dependencies
Coordinate cross-functional teams including IT, clinical stakeholders, vendors, compliance, and data teams
Oversee data scope definition, mapping, validation, testing, and reconciliation activities
Manage archival strategies, including read-only legacy access, third-party archives, VNAs, or data repositories
Ensure projects meet HIPAA, data retention, and regulatory requirements
Drive stakeholder communication, executive reporting, and change management activities
Identify risks related to data integrity, security, and availability, and proactively mitigate issues
Qualification
Required
5+ years of project management experience in healthcare IT
Hands-on experience with data archiving and/or data conversion projects
Experience working with non-Epic EHR systems
Strong understanding of healthcare data domains (clinical, demographic, financial, operational)
Proven ability to manage vendor-led and internally delivered projects
Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid)
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or related field
5+ years of healthcare IT project management experience
Experience supporting non-Epic EHR platforms and/or ancillary clinical systems
Strong understanding of healthcare workflows, interfaces, and data exchange standards (HL7, FHIR, etc.)
Proven experience managing third-party vendors and application partners
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred
PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification
Experience with mergers, acquisitions, or system consolidations
Familiarity with clinical data archives, data warehouses, or VNAs
Knowledge of HL7, CCD, or other healthcare data standards (high-level understanding)
Experience supporting regulatory or legal data retention initiatives
PMP or equivalent project management certification
Experience working in hybrid Epic and non-Epic environments
Familiarity with clinical, revenue cycle, imaging, and specialty systems
Experience with system integrations, data conversions, or application archiving
Hospital or large health system experience
